Who Are You?
My name is Nick Schuurman and I live with my family in Chilliwack, British Columbia. I am a Mennonite pastor, currently working as a Homelessness Prevention and Outreach Worker.
What Do You Do?
I make hand-pulled relief prints as a part-time past-time and share them in support of organizations who are engaged in the work of peace.
What Size Are the Prints?
All prints, unless otherwise indicated, are 8″ x 10″ and fit frames to suit. We do our best to cut to size, but they might require some minor trimming.
How Do I Order?
I make short runs of prints and indicate that they are available on our website.
You contact us by email with your name, address and request, and then make a direct donation to the organization/s of your choice, through their website/s as listed on our “Place an Order Page.”
We will mail you a print / prints at no additional cost.
We will take orders as long as we have copies of the prints on hand, after that, we’ll pause until we print again. This is the most simple and sustainable way we can do this, given the stage of life we are in right now.
Do you Ship To _______ ?
Currently, we are only able to ship to Canada and the United States.
How Much Do the Prints Cost?
We ask that $10 per print be donated. We’ve experimented with different ways of selling our prints over the years, but have always insisted on them being accessible. If you want to donate more, by all means donate more. If you can’t afford the $10, let us know and we’ll send you a print all the same.
We believe in supporting artists. But we also believe that, at this point in our lives, we have the means to share our work in a way that all proceeds support nonprofits. We may occasionally share one-off projects to cover some of our costs.
Can I Commission a Print?
Sure. That is how this started, with friends and family requesting prints based off of biblical texts that meant something to them. Send us the verse/s you had in mind. Just know it may just take a while before we can consider making something for you. We don’t charge or request donations be made for commissions.
Can I Use Your Prints For _______ ?
Maybe. People have asked to use our art for banners, children’s colouring pages, church bulletins, protest posters, t-shirts, postcards, magazines and tattoos. We’ve been invited to sell our prints at festivals, fairs, gift shops and bazaars. Sometimes we’ve worked with people on permissions and projects. Sometimes we’ve declined. Ask and see.
Can I Get A Copy of a Particular Print I Like?
If it’s up on the website and listed as available, you can definitely order. We’re often behind on updating the website, so if you’ve seen us share about a print recently on social media, chances are it is available. Put in the request by email and we’ll let you know if it isn’t.
How Can I Be Notified When Prints Are Available?
You can check back to this website from time to time, or follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram. You can also request to be added to our email list, which we’ll update from time to time when new/more prints are available.
